I have a BS, MS and Ph.D. in Structural Engineering, and I am the owner
of a 22-person engineering consulting firm in Columbus, Ohio. We
specialize in bridge and highway design. Over the last 15 years, my
firm, Columbus Engineering Consultants, Inc. (CEC) (TAdrafting is the
drafting service department of CEC) has successfully developed six
software packages to automate the detailing and drafting for the
following six types of bridges:  (1) RC Slab Bridges, (2) PC Box-beam
Bridges, (3) PC I-beam Bridges, (4) Steel Rolled-beam Bridges, (5)
Steel Plate Girder Bridges, and (6) Culvert-type Structures. Each
package can create design plans at 30-60 seconds per sheet after the
required data entry, regardless of complexity, versus days or weeks per
sheet using manual CAD drafting. As you can readily see, these six types
of bridges comprise the majority of bridges built in any country every
year. We have been using the software inhouse for the last 5 years and
had some success in Ohio with over 300 projects.
